Who are Olivia Soli’s parents? The singer’s complicated parentage

Olivia Soli

Olivia Soli is widely expected to win season 21 of American Idol. Following her fantastic rendition of Lionel Richie’s Hello, Richie told her she was the ‘best so far in this audition’. Olivia faces stiff competition, but, gleaning from the reactions to her performances, she is the favorite for the crown.

Olivia was raised by her mother, Pauline Youngblood, and her stepfather, Jason Toth

Olivia Soli was born to Pauline Youngblood and a mysterious man. The identity of Olivia’s biological father is unclear.

Pauline first married Craig Youngblood, with whom she welcomed a daughter, Danielle. After her split from Craig, Pauline dated an unknown man. The couple welcomed two daughters, Olivia and Sophia, before separating. Pauline later married Jason Toth.

It’s unclear if Olivia maintains a relationship with her biological father. Following her rendition of Celine Dion’s All By Myself, Olivia broke down due to her father’s presence in the crowd.

“I actually teared up because I saw my dad for the first time in weeks and weeks,” Olivia said. “That meant a lot to me to have him there watching.” The man in the video is likely Olivia’s biological father, as he doesn’t resemble Craig or Jason.

Olivia’s parents raised her in Los Angeles, a city she considers toxic and magical in equal measure. She told Vents Magazine that living in LA benefited her career, as she could connect with like-minded artists. She continued:

“It [LA] can be an amazing outlet for creativity. The cons of being an artist in Los Angeles is feeling like a small fish in a big pond. Artists from all around the world come here to pursue the exact dream and sometimes that can be discouraging to artists.”

Olivia’s mom is the founder and CEO of Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics

Pauline Youngblood’s interest in the beauty industry sprung when she developed acne as a teenager. “I was really affected by it, and had to learn how to treat it properly,” she told Well Spa 360. “Once I was able to help myself out, I wanted to pass on that knowledge and in turn, help others.”

She became a medical esthetician, assisting patients with various skin issues, including acne and rosacea. Pauline discovered that patients with sensitive skin took longer to heal. “Some of these conditions took up to six months to heal, and there simply wasn’t a suitable makeup option at the time that could cover raw skin without irritating it,” she said.

A friend pointed Pauline to mineral cosmetics, which she found to be a viable solution. She collaborated with a chemist to create a loose foundation, creating the first product from Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics.

Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics develops and sells a wide range of skincare products. Pauline has been the company’s CEO and president since its launch nearly 27 years ago. “We’ve been able to reach so many people over the years,” Pauline said. “I can’t imagine doing anything else.”

“I think the quality of our makeup and ingredients differentiate us,” Pauline talked to Well Spa 360 about her company’s competitive strategies. “And it’s not always easy, as prices on raw materials have gone up.”

Pauline, a beauty guru, says she always applies mineral foundation and sunblock. “I have a lot of redness in my skin, and nothing makes me look and feel prettier,” she stated.

Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics is a family-run business: Pauline’s husband, Jason Toth, served as the company’s executive vice president for several years. Pauline said her daughters have expressed interest in joining her beauty company:

“There have been some conversations about them one day joining the business—but they’re going to college first! One of the most important life lessons is learning how to stand on your own two feet.”
